SAGE has been engaged by Talison Lithium (Talison) to conduct an independent Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) for the communities surrounding Talison’s Greenbushes Lithium Operation in Western Australia.
This ongoing project has seen SAGE design environmental sampling programs for community and recreational areas near the site and developed an air sampling program to support a comprehensive environmental conceptual site model for the HHRA.
SAGE is currently supporting Talison by serving on the technical evaluation board, reviewing proposals for community sampling, air quality monitoring, and environmental testing services. Once vendors are selected, SAGE will work closely with specialist suppliers and accredited laboratories to ensure consistency and quality in analytical testing across all sampled environmental media.
As part of its role, SAGE is also assisting Talison with community engagement for the HHRA and will ensure that technical findings are communicated clearly and accessibly.
At the conclusion of the work, SAGE will have assessed and quantified potential environmental health risks associated with mine-related emissions and activities, providing an evidence-based understanding of their impact on surrounding communities.
