Amanda with a previous employer conducted a series of laboratory Audits to support the Esso Highlands Liquefied Natural Gas Project. In order to meet the environmental objectives for the project, compliance of local environmental analytical providers was requested to be established in order to improve project efficiency, stimulate local economy and increase capacity skill building.

The laboratories were audited against compliance with ISO17025 and ExxonMobil Quality Practices and Guidelines for Laboratories.

The initial Audit program involved three laboratories in which Amanda worked collaboratively to establish potential capability based on a number of key considerations including education and skill, facility design, functionality, laboratory instrumentation, security, storage and sample handling capacity and materials supply. Amanda worked with the providers in order to increase their understanding of the project requirements and ability to perform the required analytical testing.

Follow up Audits occurred for two providers to check against compliance and progress at implementation of project specific requirements.

The project enabled the client to make informed decisions with respect to risk and quality of analytical data to meet environmental compliance requirements for project baseline and compliance monitoring.
