Groundwater Modelling and Plume Mapping

This project involved the simulation of groundwater flow pathways and contaminant transport in an area affected by PFAS contamination from historic use. The team utilised numerical groundwater modelling software to determine sources, pathways, and receptors of PFAS contamination in the local environment. This information was then used to identify appropriate remedial actions to prevent the continued contributions of PFAS to the groundwater system. To assist with this the numerical groundwater model was adapted to simulate pump and treat and irrigation remediation scenarios.
